Sustainable Energy Efficiency Nanchong Factory
As inhabitants of this planet, we recognise that we share it with a vast array of life. At PFGHL, the ethos of sustainability resonates throughout our entire industry chain. Starting from product development, sourcing raw materials, establishing manufacturing facilities and production lines, operating the mills and running the farms, every step is guided by environmentally friendly principles.

Our wholly owned factory in Nanchong City of Sichuan Province at China was built strategically for energy efficiency and minimise energy-wasting with the ultimate goal to reduce carbon footprint. Through this multipronged initiative, we have accredited Silver LEED certification and are striving to the next level. Various mitigation measures have been implemented, such as:
Aspirational Silk – BOMBYX As raw material is one of the key elements in our sustainable programs, that’s driven the sustainable silk project – BOMBYX on 2018. We take the innovation initiative to create a ‘nature-positive’ farmland that accommodates to the landscape, minimise the adverse impact with the best farming practices through backward integration from garment manufacturing to farm and mill. We keep sustainability and cost-effectiveness in mind throughout our production processes.

We preserve and revive the land, protect and encourage the restoration of self-sustaining ecosystems under favourable biological factors that allow plants, animals, micro-organisms and farms to interact positively with the ecoystem. Its climate and terrain offer the best agricultural and manufacturing conditions in meeting BOMBYX’s stringent criteria for silk production. We committed to every detail in the production cycle, set new standards through transparent business practices and trusted supply chain to benefit all stakeholders, communities and nature.

Upstream Integration
Empowering People. Enriching Communities. Rebuilding Nature
We strive for a balanced approach to economic growth and profit generation that aligns with the well-being of our communities while minimising our impact on the environment.

By implementing backward integration, we have revolutionised our supply chain, encompassing garment manufacturing, silk fabric production, and raw material sourcing. This approach has had significant positive effects on both the environment and society. We have eliminated the need for excessive packaging materials and unnecessary logistics arrangements, reducing our ecological footprint. Furthermore, by bypassing intermediaries, we have fostered efficient internal communication, increased production flexibility, and expanded our ability to deliver exceptional products to customers worldwide.

Low Impact Production
At our Nanchong factory, we have taken proactive measures to mitigate environmental impact and bolster sustainability. We have implemented various initiatives to harness alternative energy sources and minimise pollution. We have installed a substantial number of solar panels to generate clean energy. Our efficient water-saving system has resulted in a remarkable reduction of up to 95% in wastewater.

Regenerative Agriculture
Reinforces Sustainable Silk Production
At BOMBYX, our commitment to producing exceptional silk fabrics goes hand in hand with our dedication to eco-friendly practices and the use of modern technologies. Through our Regenerative Agriculture approach, we actively work towards restoring the soil and promoting biodiversity. By integrating livestock into our farming system, we create a self-sustaining ecosystem. Our farming practices include intercropping, crop rotation, terrace farming, bio-organic pest control, and the use of organic fertilisers. These methods not only help to reduce our carbon footprint and minimise environmental damage but also ensure that crop yields are maintained.

Caring for Our People
At our company, we prioritise the social aspect of our operations. We are committed to supporting the local workforce and have made it a priority to hire over 95% of our team members from the Sichuan region. This approach not only ensures a better quality of life and mental well-being for our employees but also allows them to work in their hometowns alongside their families.

In fact, many of our teammates at the Nanchong factory and BOMBYX mill of PFGHL come from the same family, emphasising our strong sense of community. Additionally, we are proud to empower women in the workplace, with almost 80% of our staff being female.

Caring for Our Partners
Located in the northeastern part of China's Sichuan province, Nanchong City holds historical significance as the starting point of the Ancient Silk Road. At BOMBYX, we have specifically chosen Yilong County in Nanchong to benefit from its rich sericulture heritage, which dates back to the original Silk Road era. As part of our commitment to social sustainability, we actively engage with local communities by providing training, technical support, and consultations. Our aim is to educate and improve their farming techniques, blending traditional methods with modern technologies to enhance the quality and sustainability of their silk production. This approach has resulted in expanded sources of income and extended harvest periods for the local population, ultimately leading to increased annual income.

Caring for Our Communities
At PFGHL, we firmly believe in the power of social inclusion to foster strong and resilient communities. Our commitment extends beyond the workplace and farms as we actively support various local programs. With a "people-first" approach, we aim to share, inspire, and enrich the knowledge of traditional farming practices for sericulture by incorporating modern technologies. This not only enhances local engagement but also raises monthly incomes, ultimately improving the well-being of our neighborhoods.

To alleviate local poverty and strengthen farming capabilities, we have donated over 300 hectares of mulberry trees to Yilong County in Sichuan province. Additionally, we collaborate with the local government to construct kindergarten and provide scholarships for university students. By embracing knowledge sharing, we empower the local community to thrive and contribute to the prosperity of their hometowns while maintaining strong family ties. Our efforts also encourage the younger generation to pursue better education, broadening their horizons and fostering a creative and innovative mindset for a promising future.
PFGHL has established a robust supply chain within our business model that not only prioritises sustainability but also enhances transparency, thereby bolstering our traceability.
Full Industry Chain
Traceability holds a much deeper meaning for PFGHL than simply a ‘Country of Origin’ label. Our commitment to traceability is evident in our fully integrated industry chain. From garment manufacturing to weaving and raw material farming, we have taken control of our production processes within our facilities. This approach not only reduces the need for excessive packaging materials and additional transportation but also enhances communication efficiency. Moreover, it enables us to meticulously trace and monitor each production stage, minimising production risks and ensuring timely delivery.
